Education

Rudolf Ostrihansky received his Master's degree (1981) and doctorate degree (1988) in law at Warsaw University Law School, where he still lectures on European and international commercial law. He also holds a diploma (with distinction) of the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.

Achievements

In the late 80's, Dr. Ostrihansky participated as an expert of the Polish Government in the Uruguay Round of GATT negotiations. Following this, he studied at the Asser Institute in The Hague. He joined SK&S in 1992, and became partner in 1996. His practice concentrates on financial transactions, supervising a host of sizable credit financing and debt-to-risk capital conversion transactions carried out in Poland by international finance institutions and foreign merchant banks. He also devotes significant attention to media law and telecommunications, having advised one of the largest European TV companies for many years on the corporate and regulatory aspects of their Polish activities. He has also participated in numerous sizable privatizations of Polish industry and acquisitions of privately held entities with the participation of large foreign companies. Since Poland entered EU jurisdiction, Dr. Ostrihansky, together with Dr. Skrzydło-Tefelska, has supervised SK&S's entire practice in this area.

Except for his work for SK&S, Dr. Ostrihansky is also a member of the Advisory Committee for European Law at the Ministry of Justice. He has authored a number of publications on European and international law, including two textbooks.
