10th Polish Infrastructure Congress

On 7 June, the Copernicus Science Centre (Centrum Nauki Kopernik) in Warsaw hosted the 10th Polish Infrastructure Congress which was organised by the Infrastructure Market and the TOR Consultants Group. Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak was the Golden Partner of the event.

SK&S was represented by Zbyszko Wizner, Senior Partner, head of the Infrastructural Projects practice; Agnieszka Fedor, Partner, head of the Labour Law practice; and Żaneta Urbaniak, senior associate, member of the Public Procurements Team.

Zbyszko Wizner was a speaker on the panel “Investment plans – the present and the future”. The discussion was dedicated to structural problems in the construction industry. It focused on the issues which are of key significance for contractors, e.g. contract updates, price increases and the availability of materials in the context of the recent Covid pandemic, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the ensuing sanctions.

Agnieszka Fedor took part in the discussion “The HR situation in the infrastructure industry. The current situation and upcoming challenges”. The debate focused on employee issues, price pressure, pay pressure, regulatory changes, and amendments to the Labour Code, i.e. the challenges that the infrastructure industry is facing now. The discussion also referred to the situation on the labour market following the outflow of Ukrainian workers caused by the war.

Żaneta Urbaniak was a speaker during the debate “Relationships between the general contractor and the investor. A potential for dialogue or two continued monologues?” The topic brought up the issue of updating the remuneration of the contractors who perform and supervise construction works in infrastructural projects – specifically those related to railways and roads.
